BudMenuz — Cannabis Menu & Ordering Platform

BudMenuz is a web platform for verified California dispensaries that centralizes menus, orders, delivery, and customer experience — so shops aren’t juggling five different tools just to run daily operations.

I designed BudMenuz as a pragmatic, operations-focused system: a clean consumer-facing menu on top, with inventory sync, deals, and order management streamlined for staff on the backend.

What BudMenuz does

  • Location-based menus for verified, licensed dispensaries.
  • Online ordering for pickup and delivery with status tracking.
  • Automated inventory sync (CSV import now, POS integrations planned).
  • Deals & promos engine for daily specials, happy hours, and campaigns.
  • Role-based access for owners, managers, staff, and marketing users.
  • SEO-friendly public menu pages designed to be discoverable and fast.

Quick facts

  • Role: Product, architecture, backend, frontend.
  • Industry: Cannabis tech, local delivery.
  • Focus: Reducing operational chaos and tool sprawl.

Technical stack

Flask-based backend with a structured modular layout, talking to a MySQL 8 database for dispensaries, menus, products, inventory, users, and orders.

Frontend built with responsive templates, Bootstrap, and custom components optimized for fast browsing on mobile and tablets in-store and at home.

Integrations include CSV import pipelines for inventory, email provider hooks for transactional emails, and storage for product images and assets.

My responsibilities

  • Defining core product flows for menu, cart, ordering, and delivery.
  • Designing the database schema and API endpoints.
  • Implementing user roles, auth, and multi-dispensary support.
  • Creating the admin UI for inventory, deals, and order management.
  • Collaborating with early partner dispensaries on feedback and UX.
